The the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred on March 11, 2011 caused sphereliquefaction damage mainly along the Pacific coast from the Tohoku region to the Kanto region.
Even in Tokyo, far annexhypocenter, liquefaction occurred not only in the waterfront area but also in inland areas, causing damage such as wooden housing to lean in five wards in the eastern part of the the ward area.
In this section, we will explain in an easy-to-understand manner how quadrangle builders and owner should prepare for building damage caused by liquefaction by learning more about liquefaction, understanding the ground setting, and consulting with geotechnical and construction expert.
