One of Japan's three top hot springs
Kusatsu Onsen boasts the largest natural water flow of all hot springs in Japan. More than 32,300 liters of spring water gush out every minute – the equivalent of some 230,000 barrels per day!

One of Japan's most acidic springs, with a pH of just 2.1 (Yubatake spring), the incredible properties of Kusatsu's waters gives them antibacterial properties that are simply remarkable.The bactericidal action of miscellaneous germs is outstanding.

Situated in the heart of the hot spring precinct, Yubatake is the symbol of Kusatsu Onsen.
With 4000 liters of hot water gushing out of the spring every minute, the air is constantly filled with rising steam.
Around Yubatake, the paved streets, stone fences, and benches shaped like Mt. Shirane form a park around which you can enjoy a stroll after your bath.

Yukemuri-tei (foot bath) Just a few minutes with your hands or feet in the bath is enough for the warmth of the water to take effect.
"Netsunoyu" "Netsunoyu" which stands in front of the Yubatake of Kusatsu Onsen.
At this traditional bathhouse, visitors can see demonstrations of yumomi ("water stirring") and traditional dance done to a local folk song.
