We support entrepreneurs who are working to solve social issues through business by investing in and accompanying them in their efforts to overcome challenges and empower people to become self-reliant.
Participatory social investment
Building a platform
ARUN aims to build a platform where anyone can participate in solving issues and creating impact together with entrepreneurs by raising investment funds Cloud and selecting potential investment destinations through business contests.
We discover entrepreneurs who are working to solve social issues through business, and support and accompany them through analysis, evaluation, and investment.
ARUN formulates a logic model* for the social impact it aims to achieve with its investment targets, sets evaluation indicators (KPIs), and implements a regular cycle of evaluation and verification.
ARUN first invested in Cambodian social enterprises in 2009, and since then has made social investments in 11 companies totaling $1,510,000.
ARUN stands for "dawn" in Cambodian, representing the hope and energy of entrepreneurs.
The theme color used in ARUN's creative is also inspired by "dawn" and "dawn. It is a gradation from purple to blue sky.

MESSAGE
ARUN began when those involved in international cooperation and those working in the world of finance and business met and shared a common desire to support social entrepreneurs in Cambodia in realizing their dreams.
Cambodia has become one of the poorest countries in the world, having lost many people and resources due to a war that lasted more than 20 years. 35% of the population lives in poverty on less than $1 a day, many intellectuals were killed during the Pol Pot era, and the adult literacy rate is still 74%. Everything was destroyed, and the country had to start over from a place where roads, administrative structures, and trust between people had been destroyed.
Since the 1990s, a lot of foreign aid came to Cambodia for reconstruction and development. And then I realized that Cambodia seemed to have become a society that could not do without aid. However, what people need to live with confidence is not charity. I believe that when opportunities are given to people and their potentials are brought out, they will be able to live.
The hope for Cambodia is the existence of leaders and creative social entrepreneurs who are willing to "get out of aid and run their own businesses on their own with their own funds," and work together to realize sustainable social development that cannot be achieved by an individual.
The words "investment" and "fund" may conjure up images of money-making. However, a fund is merely a box to put money in. Money is a tool to promote and support business. "Social investment" is a new way to participate in society, to cast a vote for the future we want.
Let's use our willing money to create peace, to offer love, and to realize a society where each person's value shines through.
